Having finished The Dante Club by Matthew Pearl about a month ago, I have been mulling over the brute-force-research and immersion required for him to complete it. This is a wonderful an highly engaging book which has so much to offer and so many different levels. Set in Boston during the middle half of the 19th century, the novel is a smart detective story featuring members of the Dante Club, a group devoted to introducing the poet's work to American audiences. Hector Ciccone with the Dante Club says the club is proud to be a part of the community. I'll start off by saying I liked this book.
